Physiological Intracytoplasmic
Sperm Injection
It is Physiological Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (PICSI). It is a procedure of selecting the best possible sperm for based on physiological characteristic along with good motility and morphology, before injecting it into the egg as in normal intracytoplasmmic injection during an IVF protocol. This procedure helps us in picking a single mature sperm for injecting into the egg. Since it is known only a mature sperm can bind to the oocyte complex (Hyaluronan) to fertilize the egg, It helps to increase the chances of fertilization, implantation.
