A semen analysis is the most common procedure to test male fertility to determine if any male factor is involved.

Other Male Fertility Testing

However, sometimes some more test may be required such as:

  • Sperm agglutination
  • Sperm penetration
  • Hypo-osmotic swelling
  • Acrosome reaction
  • Ultrasonography is used to locate damage or blockage in the male reproductive system, including prostate, seminal vesicles, and ejaculatory ducts.

On reviewing these reports sometimes surgical retrieval of sperms or corrective surgeries are recommended:

  • Correction of varicocele or undescended testis
  • Repair or removal of obstruction of vas deferens
