IVF
programs must have many
approved features and services,
but every program is not the
same.
Questions
to ask ?
Can I have a natural
cycle (no drugs) if I wish?
Will I be monitored (have a
blood test and ultrasound) individually
and frequently during my stimulation?
Over all how many visit are
required during the whole procedure.
Will my embryo's incubator use
6% oxygen (the same as in the
fallopian tube and uterus) or
20% oxygen?
What is the clinic's detailed
experience with transferring
day 5 blastocysts?
Does the clinic offer preimplantation
genetic diagnosis?
Choosing
a clinic is a personal decision
- it's a personal part of
your life that is being explored.
Everything is new to you and
it is difficult to find your
way through a maze of information.
It is important to feel comfortable
with the choices that you
make.
It
is worthwhile to find out
as much as you can about a
clinic before you start. Delhi
IVF welcomes questions on
any aspect of infertility
management and the services
our clinic provides. Following
are some questions that might
help you to get a clear picture
of what a clinic can do. We
hope they will help you make
good choices by understanding
what your minimum expectations
are.

Q.
What percentage of all patients
achieved pregnancy in the
last twelve months, or alternatively
how many treatment cycles
are required on average, to
achieve a pregnancy at your
age?
The
success rates of clinics vary
and it is important to get
up to date information from
a centre you may be considering.
Success rates depend on the
skill and technology at the
clinic. If you are under 35
at over 1 in 3 couples have
a baby on their first attempt
and, on average, pregnancy
is achieved within 2 cycles;
from one stimulation cycle
(i.e. including frozen embryo
transfers) you have a greater
than 50% chance of having
a baby. These success rates
are world standard.
Q.
Will I have my own doctor
at every stage of my treatment
and who else will be involved?
Not
only is it important to think
about increasing your chances
of having a baby, it is important
to think of what care will
be given throughout your treatment.
A successful treatment cycle
could also be one where you
personally have a sense of
control and where you feel
the care and attention provided
to you is exactly as you would
expect. At Delhi IVF your
Doctor will almost always
attend to you personally at
each stage of treatment. Your
nurse coordinator will also
be available for you. There
will always be nursing staff
who are familiar to both of
you, to your case and to your
particular needs. You will
also meet the scientist who
will be working with the doctor
and nurses to assure the best
of personalized care and support
are yours throughout your
time at Delhi IVF.
The scientist associated with
an IVF program is the person
who take special care of your
embryos. One of the reasons
for the high success rates
at Delhi IVF is the quality
of scientific personnel and
the high scientist-to-patient
ratio.
Q.
What will a treatment cycle
cost?
Results
should also be taken into
account when considering costs.
A number of attempts with
a low chance of success will
end up being more expensive
than one or two cycles with
a top-rated program.
Q.
How does the clinic keep abreast
of the latest technology?
Delhi
IVF not only has ready access
to latest technologies - it
pioneers them. Delhi IVF was
the first program in Delhi
with laser-assisted hatching
and clinically proven stage-specific
embryo culture medium. We
are using Australia’s
cook culture medium, which
is rated best in the world
for improving embryos development
and blast cyst culture (growing
the embryos till D-5).
